Ms.Bartell's Wonderful, Happy cooking project

Time flies when I am having fun. It's true. At the morning of Saturday, I went to school for cooking with some foreign students. I am excited about cooking because I am fond of having the feeling of be appreciated and succeed. With this opportunity, I am sure I do a good job.
Our French leader Max was told to make something like pancake. He first organized us into two groups. Two of us were going to buy some condiments, and others were able to find main ingredients, like flour, egg, and oil. After collecting all kinds of food, it’s time to start our mission. We put flour into a big pot, then mixed it with milk evenly. In a moment, eggs might be infiltrated into the mixture. For next about half an hour, the mixture was fermented by keeping it settled alone, then smeared the oil around the flat-bottomed pan, finally made the paste as a circle cook on the pan. After baking for three or less minutes, the pancake were done. Tasting two pieces of it, I found out it was something like egg waffle in China like my father always has for breakfast. However, I thought it may be better tasted if I was a French or a foreigner, but on the other hand, I could have that experience, and in the future, I also can show it when I go abroad. Next day, Ms.Bartell told us to cook for all classmates, the mission should be finished on Monday, and after asking some details about the food I did, I found out I had made a mistake of the name of the food, its name is CREPE…and some small mistake about the whole cooking steps of crepe, finally I corrected it, so it’s successful to make the food at home. It’s completely finished, but I still had some details to notice.
I like the feeling of cooking happily, and this kind of project gave me a perfect chance to know how to cook when I am really starving in a foreign country.

Volunteer/Work Experience

During this laber holidays, I finished my volunteer work in Phoenix International Bookstore on Shan Xi Road with Tim in 10-D. With a whole view of the bookstore, I considered it was the largest bookstore I have ever seen. The tall building is clearly made of glass, which seemed to be something like a shrine to the readers. From the transparent windows, we can translucently see that it has five floors. With my curiosity, I went into the bookstore. Certainly, it includes a huge amount of varied books, such as novels, biographies, fairy stories, textbooks, and even books in original English...However, this bookstore is unlike our impressions of common bookstores like Xinhua bookstore, with its large area, there are audio and video store, animation shop, musical instrument store, even Starbucks Coffee. What a fun place I visited! ~ First walking around it, I noticed the signs of directions which can tell how and where to find one's wanted books. After the arrangement of our job, I found my way to my working place, an electric dictionary and study machine counter by the useful sign. With no experience, I might be directly acquainted with the knowledge about the machine. After finishing the learning, I felt it was really boring to stand there for five hours because there was not much customs looking around for the dictionaries. Chatting was a good way to count one's thumbs. So I talked with the counter girl. In my daily study, I always check my e-dictionary. So I'm very familiar to the functions, but mine is different brand. As she talking about the machine, she also introduced me some other advanced things. Something called Ozing Children Study Machine attracted me. It can read the words you touch from any textbooks. Many things are involved; I cannot show all details... Truly felt, standing for two and a half hours in the counter was such a tough and terrible thing. I could not move any more, and my legs were too achy. ~Oh, how to pass the boring time!~ Suddenly, I saw that next to our counter, there is the place selling musical instruments. I rushed to Tim, and asked to rest for a few minutes. As an expert on playing piano, Tim still went to enjoy himself. With his music, my musical elements were stimulated. I played my guitar as soon as Tim was playing piano. I realized that so many people were reading around us. Our music brought them a peaceful environment. Kids and some customers were all enjoying it. After playing for a while, Tim and I both felt that the temperature was really high in the giant bookstore. So we went down to the ground floor at once, getting enough money together to buy a cup of icy Starbucks coffee. Then, hot body was waked up by the frozen drink. After the hard work, though the process was painstaking, we paid out. The green tea frappuccino blend cream was really delicious, because sweating was delightful. From the volunteer work in Phoenix International Bookstore, I learned a lot about the management of a bookstore. Realistically, I also knew that everything is not such a piece of cake, we must pay our effort. My volunteer work in a bookstore, ha-ha ~I'm Lovin' It.
